THE SEXIEST TIME OF THE YEAR

THE SEXIEST TIME OF THE YEAR

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Autumn!

I know, I know. I was thinking about Christmas. While that may bring to mind things like gifts, hot chocolate, family gatherings, and many more wonderful memories, there's scientific evidence that fall is one of the most wonderful times of the year. In fact, there's evidence that it's the sexiest.

How do we know? Well, humans and animals share many characteristics. Many large animals prepare for a long winter of hibernation by getting ready before the cold weather arrives.

The sex hormones Human hormones, like testosterone, peak in the fall. And not just in men. In women, testosterone production doubles in the fall, while it reaches its lowest level in the summer. This means that, once the leaves start to change, you and your partner have a heightened sex drive. This is especially true for women, where testosterone is used to boost libido. Why not take advantage of it? There are many subtle ways to let your partner know it's time for sex. Try it. lingerie new or a scent that sparks your interest.

If you feel tired, moody, or worried about gaining weight, this may mean you have low testosterone (even with the effects of autumn) and it could mean it's time to start taking a Testosterone supplement . Be sure to consult your doctor before taking a supplement or if you have any questions. You can also increase testosterone naturally by leading a healthy lifestyle. This includes exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, and eating a balanced diet that contains plenty of protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats.

Libido is higher, but what else do we know about seasons and comfort under the sheets? Scientists have discovered that when day and night lengths are equal (during an equinox) and temperatures range between 50 and 70 degrees, it's the best time to roll in the hay (hopefully not in a hay maze, but we already know that). These two factors point to, you guessed it, fall.

You might be thinking, "Wait a minute... spring is also about those same things. Why isn't spring the sexiest?"

Scientists are still unsure. There are several possible explanations:

  1. There is more food available in the summer, so we have more energy from extra fat stores in the fall to have time to play in the room.
  2. During the Spring Equinox, it's still quite cold, so it's harder to raise the temperature. Remember the last time you started foreplay when you or your partner were cold? I cover myself with a blanket when I need warmth.

Summer is over. Now that kids are heading back to school and learning, it's a great opportunity to put the science behind sex to the test. Are you feeling a boost in libido? Let us know with #pureromance.
